MANSFIELD & DONCASTER GREYHOUND STADIUM

This site is not an official website for the track shown here and is neither approved or endorsed by the stadium. I am indebted to Richard English for helping to construct this page.

The greyhound track in the Derbyshire village of Hasland, to the South-East of Chesterfield, had a greyhound stadium in 1931, with racing being administered by Mansfield Greyhound Racecourse Co. Ltd. It was known as the Mansfield and Doncaster Greyhound racecourse, with kennels based in Hasland, Chesterfield and Doncaster.

The track had a circumference of 510 yards and held races on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings. It operated a cable hare and held sprints over 305 yards and standard races over 510 yards. It was unique in that the track housed the greyhounds for which there was no charge, but equally they offered no prize money.

Track Records, as of 1932, are shown below together with an indication of how fast the time is in comparison to other tracks, both for currently open and defunct tracks, in the UK. Ratings are between 0 and 100, where 100 is an extremely fast time and reflects the speed of the track, tightness of the circuit and quality of greyhound visiting the tracks.
